Dr. Dimiter Gantchev is an experienced professional with over 30 years of international practice in policy advice, research, technical cooperation, and education in the fields of intellectual property (IP), creative industries, data management, and technology impacts. From 2005 until 2026 he was head of the Creative Industries Division in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva. He focuses on issues related to the economics of intellectual property as well as the management of copyright by creators in specific creative sectors. He has been in charge of research projects in WIPO on establishing methodologies for assessing copyright impact on the creative industries, providing evidence for policy making as well as capacity-building and awareness building in this area. Dr Gantchev holds a PhD in economics of copyright from the Sofia University of National and World Economy and an MA in international relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
