Michael Rushton

Professor, O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University

Michael Rushton has a PhD in Economics from the University of British Columbia, and teaches and writes in the fields of cultural policy, economics, management, and law. He is the editor of Creative Communities: Art Works in Economic Development (Brookings, 2013), and the author of Strategic Pricing for the Arts (Routledge, 2015) and, most recently, The Moral Foundations of Public Funding for the Arts (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023). He serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Cultural Policy, and Cultural Trends, and is the former co-editor of the Journal of Cultural Economics.
