Chris Bilton’s research centres on the relationship between creativity and management, with a focus on creative work and creativity in the time of AI. He leads the BA in Media and Creative Industries at Warwick and is committed to improving access and opportunity in creative workplaces. He is Warwick academic lead on CreaTech Frontiers, a collaboration between four West Midlands universities, aiming to build capacity in the region’s createch sector. Prior to academia he worked in theatre and community arts. He completed his PhD, a critical history of cultural democracy, in 1998. His most recent books include Cultural Management: a research overview (Routledge 2023) and Creativities: the What, How, Where, Who and Why of the Creative Process (Edward Elgar 2022) with Stephen Cummings and dt ogilvie. He is currently working on a book about myths of creativity on film. He co-hosts the Media Whatever podcast with Carolina Bandinelli.
