Orian Brook is a lecturer in Social Policy, teaching research methods including advanced statistics, and a member of the College of Experts for DCMS. Her research explores social and spatial inequalities in the creative economy, and she has expertise in analysis of survey and linked administrative datasets. Her most recent research is an analysis of the Longitudinal Educational Outcomes dataset to understand the earnings of creative graduates, funded by an ESRC ADR Fellowship. She is co-author of the book “Culture is bad for you”, the Panic! Report and the Sutton Trust report “A Class Act”. She analysed spatial equity in cultural participation, and the association between access to cultural venues and attendance, for her PhD at University of St Andrews. Prior to this she was an audience researcher in the arts sector.
