Dr James Davies is a Research Fellow for Skills and Innovation for the Media Cymru project at the University of South Wales. His previous work has included a comparative analysis of the creative clusters in South Wales and the West Midlands for Creative PEC. His work for Media Cymru has involved extensive study of the creative sector workforce, with a particular interest in freelance labour and organizational forms. His work on freelance TV careers has been published in Organization, and he is the contributing author of industry reports on creative industries innovation, cultural investment in the City of Birmingham and Cultural Recovery for the Local Policy Innovation Partnership Strategic Hub at City-REDI at the University of Birmingham. His current research has focused on the application of environmentally sustainable practice within TV and Film production.
