Since 2004, Ana Flávia Machado has been a Productivity Research Fellow of the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Since 2010, she has led the CNPq-accredited Cultural Economics Research Group. Between 2015 and 2026, she published 31 articles in national and international journals on cultural economics. She also co-edited, with Cláudia Leitão, the book ‘For a Creative Brazil: Meanings, Challenges, and Perspectives of the Brazilian Creative Economy’, authored thirteen book chapters, and contributed to the blog of the Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI). Internationally, she served on the ACEI Executive Committee from 2019 to 2025 and currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cultural Economics and as a member of the Ibero-American Network of Cultural Economics (RIEC).
