
Full Professor in Applied Economics at the University of Valladolid
Luis César Herrero-Prieto is full professor of applied economics at the University of Valladolid, Spain where he is also coordinator of the Recognized Research Group on Cultural Economics. His research mostly focuses on cultural economics and cultural policy, with the main study topics addressing economic valuation of cultural heritage, efficiency analysis of cultural institutions, synthetic cultural capital indices and cultural tourism analysis. The last topics addressed focus on the economics of archaeology, economics or world heritage cities, and the funding of cultural assets, from the point of view of common resources and the economics of altruism. Overall, he has published numerous papers in journals of high scientific impact, together with the edition of books at a national and international level in reputable publishers. He has been organizer of the 19th International Conference on Cultural Economics (Valladolid, 2016 and chair of the scientific committee of the 22nd International Conference, held in Bloomington, Indiana, June 2023. He has been President of the Association for Cultural Economics International (2023-2025).
