Graeme Evans

Professor Emeritus, Research University of the Arts London

Dr Graeme Evans is Professor Emeritus of Culture and Creative Economy, University of the Arts London where he led the AHRC/UKRI Creative Cluster R&D project on fashion, textiles & technology (bftt). He directed/founded research centres/institutes in London and Maastricht including the Cities Institute, Art & Design Research Institute, Centre for Urban & Euregional & Studies, and held chairs in Art & Design and Business Schools at Brunel and Middlesex universities. He has been awarded numerous grants from research councils, EU and government and held research and advisory roles for DCMS, Arts Council, OECD, UNESCO on Culture & Creative Industries, Regeneration, Place shaping, Planning, Heritage and Creative Cities. Key books: Cultural Planning; Mega-Events; Designing Sustainable Cities; and forthcoming Cultural Spaces: Production & Consumption, with over 100 articles in edited books and journals. His parallel career is as musician (touring, session recording), arts centre director and co-director of an architectural design practice, CIM.
