Dr Daniel Simandjuntak is a Research Associate for Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre at Newcastle University, researching policy of trade and internationalisation of UK’s creative industries. He was an advisor on food policy and trade to the deputy chief of staff at the Executive Office of the President of Indonesia after performing various roles in consumer banking with Standard Chartered Group in Singapore.
Shaping his multidisciplinary background upon his BA (Honours) in Economics from Nanyang Technological University, he obtained an MSc from The University of Manchester in development economics and policy and a PhD from Penn State University in food economics. He was a recipient of the Singapore International Foundation scholarship, Singapore’s MOE Pre-University and ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship, as well as Indonesia’s LPDP (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education) Scholarship.
