Hye-Kyung Lee

Hye-Kyung Lee is Professor of Cultural Policy at the Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries, King’s College London, UK. She is interested in exploring the culture-state-market nexus and has worked on cultural policy, arts subsidy, cultural industry policy, copyright and cultural marketing. Her publications include Cultural Policies in East Asia (2014), Asian Cultural Flow (Springer 2018), Cultural Policy in South Korea (Routledge 2019), and Routledge Handbook of Cultural and Creative Industries in Asia (2019). She co-edits Cultural Trends. She is leading the ESRC funded Sustainable Cultural Futures project (2022-2025) and writing a book on the cultural industries and the state in South Korea.
