Dr. Ricky Lawton is a Cultural Economist and Director of Economic Evaluation at Ipsos. Ricky specialises in economic valuation of intangible assets and Green Book business case evaluation, with expertise in cultural capital accounting and Stated Preference design. Ricky has published over fifteen peer-reviewed academic articles in cultural and environmental economics, and wellbeing valuation. Ricky has over a decade’s academic and professional experience on major national economic research and evaluation projects, including research building the empirical evidence base behind the DCMS Cultural and Heritage Capital Framework, and the ONS work on Cultural Capital as an Intangible Asset for ESCOE. Ricky co-authored the 2021 Scoping Study for future research on Cultural and Heritage Capital, and is involved in three of the UKRI and DCMS-funded Cultural and Heritage Capital research projects for 2023-2025.
