Design Researcher
Josie is a strategic designer with a decade of experience working with grassroots, policy, business, and civil society organisations to create systemic change and build a more regenerative future, with particular experience in the fields of fashion and textiles. She has Bachelors degree in textile design and a Masters in Sustainable Development. Between 2016 and 2023 she worked at the RSA (Royal Society of Arts), in both the Economy and Design teams, most recently as an Associate Director and Head of Regenerative Design, and now works as an independent designer and consultant. She has experience of designing and leading complex, multi-stakeholder research and action projects involving the community groups, business and entrepreneurs, including for the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission, thinkpublic and RMIT University. Projects have included Cities of Making, Rethink Fashion and the ReGeneration Rising podcast series. She combines strategic and systems thinking, creativity and empathy with high quality project management and is a member of the Design Council Design Expert network.
