CEO, First Light Festival
Genevieve was a founder director of First Light Festival CIC before becoming CEO in 2022, leading on strategy, programming, and place-making. She oversees management and programming of the East Point Pavilion on Lowestoft’s seafront and leads a consortium of local, regional and national partners for the Battery of Ideas, an Arts Council England Place Partnership project. As part of this, she leads on testing ideas around the design, operation and programming of the new cultural quarter development in Lowestoft town centre. From 2027 First Light will run the new cultural quarter.
Genevieve was a founder and director of Full Circle Editions, an award-winning publisher for the East of England, and of the literary arts charity, FlipSide . Previously she worked as a television producer, training at the BBC, and then working for LWT on a raft of factual programmes before co-forming independent production company Carey St Productions. In collaboration with John Christie she has commissioned many co-productions between UK and international broadcasters. Genevieve has a keen interest in education and served for thirteen years as a trustee and chair of trustees of an academy trust. She is a board member of University of East Anglia AHRC IAA Delivery Board and Anglia Ruskin University Advisory Board for Creative Industries, as well as sitting on the executive of the Norfolk and Suffolk Culture Board.
