With the goal of the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy Green Paper to capture a greater share of international mobile investment in strategic sectors, high-quality, detailed data on foreign direct investment at the sectoral level is needed to achieve sustainable growth.

Daniel Thomas is the Global Media Editor for the FT. He was previously the chief UK business correspondent, executive news editor, deputy companies editor, telecoms correspondent and head of the Technology, Media and Telecoms team in London, property correspondent and FT Money reporter. He has worked for various titles covering property, advertising, finance and media.
Ve Dewey
Founder & CEO – Concurrency
Ve Dewey is a globally networked executive design leader whose career has been at the intersection of technology, design, and innovation, with success across industry, the third sector, and academia. Ve has championed inclusive approaches to design leadership, organisational change, and AI. Ve has worked with international brands including Mattel and Adobe and is the founder of the RSA’s Global Decolonising Design Coalition and on the board of the creative organisation Never Not Creative. Ve is also the founder and host of the Concurrency of Leadership podcast.
Dr Daniel Simandjuntak is a Research Associate for the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre at Newcastle University, researching policy of trade and internationalisation of UK’s creative industries.
He was an advisor on food policy and trade to the deputy chief of staff at the Executive Office of the President of Indonesia after performing various roles in consumer banking with Standard Chartered Group in Singapore. Shaping his multidisciplinary background upon his BA (Honours) in Economics from Nanyang Technological University, he obtained an MSc from The University of Manchester in development economics and policy and a PhD from Penn State University in food economics. He was a recipient of the Singapore International Foundation scholarship, Singapore’s MOE Pre-University and ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship, as well as Indonesia’s LPDP (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education) Scholarship.
Dr Jonathan Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Newcastle University Business School and a Research Lead in the Internationalisation strand of Creative PEC.
His research focuses on applied econometrics in the field of foreign direct investment, crossing the disciplines of economics, regional science, geography and international business.
His multi-disciplinary work has been published in a large range of international journals and he is also the co-author of a number of books on foreign direct investment
