Arts, Cultural & Heritage

Arts, Culture and Heritage

Introduction

The Arts, Culture and Heritage sectors includes our museums and galleries, as well as the video games, music and film and TV industries. These diverse, and growing, sectors are a key contributor to the UK’s economy, as well as being a core part of millions of people’s cultural lives.

Previous Creative PEC research has looked at issues such as how to measure the economic value of cultural and heritage sites, the challenges faced by the live music sector, and the state of public investment in the arts.

UK Arts, Culture and Heritage Audiences and Workforce

Launched May 2024

This third State of the Nations report uses census data to provide, for the first time, a comprehensive analysis of audiences and workforce. The insights shed light on where progress has been made on inclusion, and where significant inequalities and barriers still exist that require policy interventions.

State of the Nations Reports

Our State of the Nations reports provide a quantitative overview of developments in four key areas for Creative Industries research and policy. Reports in this series are published on a regular basis and include analysis of topical issues of interest to policymakers and industry.
