Head of Creative Programmes at DanceEast
Lucy has been working in the arts sector for the last 18 years, specialising in dance participation and training and is passionate about arts engagement and access for people across life stages and abilities. On joining DanceEast and relocating to Ipswich in 2005, Lucy developed and managed the Centre for Advanced Training (a talent development programme for young dancers), delivered community and engagement projects and was instrumental in working towards the opening of the Jerwood DanceHouse in 2009.
She now leads the Creative Team, which programmes and delivers DanceEast’s offer at the Jerwood DanceHouse and across the East of England, represents the national network of Centres for Advanced Training on the Dance Programme Board and supports a number of education, training and health and wellbeing projects and panels. As DanceEast’s lead on project and partnership development, Lucy works across the cultural sector and launched an innovative new BA (Hons) Dance with the University of Suffolk in 2018. In 2019/20 Lucy joined both Chantry Academy as a Governor, and the Clore Fellowship programme for leaders in the cultural sector, as the 2019/20 Dance Fellow supported by the Linbury Trust and the Clore Duffield Foundation.
